Pen Fried
The first poem of the book started in 1997 when I wrote a love poem for my high school girlfriend Boitumelo. Thanks to this beautiful woman I unleashed my poetic flow and started cooking poetry ever since.

Parts of the book were written in London's tube, Passing Toni Blair's neighborhood in Downing street, in Dublin buses, in a flight to Switzerland and of course, where it all began...in Africa!

UNAWARE

Unaware he might be wearing woman's underwear
Unaware this aftershave I wear attracts same gender
Unaware as I converse he had a different agenda
I resume to converse, topics so diverse

Unaware I'm politically incorrect
My actions symbolize homophobia
Unaware of name calling implications
Apology on my mythology
To the homosexual community
